HOW TO CREATE A SIMPLE 3D PRODUCT PRESENTATION
Flow Architect Studio 3D is a very versatile program. The ability to create a 3D virtual environment and build a redistributable visualization from your project enables a simple way to create a 3D product presentation that You can place on you web site o distribute any other way.
This tutorial will guide You through the process of crating a very simple but useful presentation. You can see the result presentation in a 3D_product_presentation example project that is installed with Flow Architect Studio 3D.
STEP 1
Create a project and a new map. The step to create a project are described in this tutorial.
STEP 2
Use Block tools to create some ground Block that will act as your scene and place a Player actor just above the ground. Than add a light to the map.
STEP 3
Lunch Library Explorer and import 3D model of Your product to a library or Your project. This section describes how to do this.
STEP 4
Using menu Other objects, Add Model add your model to the map. Using Groupstab on the right side of the program create a new group. Select Your model and add it to group. Now use Track assistant to create a even rotation track around Z axis. Check Automatic option to enable automatic movement of group along track. You should also set an Animation time interval in witch rotation will repeat. If you don’twantyourmodel to rotate just don’t create a group and rotation track.
STEP 5
Use Blocks to create a closed boxaround Your model and a space that You want to move around. You can now add a sky or just use any other material on box Blocks .
STEP 6
Use Blocks with Collide material to restrict movement in Your map.
At this point Your visualization should be ready. This is just a simple demonstration of your product that you can do very quickly, but You can create much more complicated and advanced visualization this way.
OTHER TIPS:
-
If You don’t have a 3D model of your product or You can build it from Blocks and Surfaces Using Flow Architect Studio 3D or You can use some other software to model it.
-
Experiment with materials to make Your presentation look best. You can use Library Editor build in material editor to create you own materials or use materials provided with Flow Architect Studio 3D.
-
You can build 3D galleries of many of Your products in the same map – a full 3D catalogue.
-
You can present your product with its intended use like for example a set of plates in a kitchen or a bike rack with a car that it is attached to.
-
Remember about performance issues. Do not use ultra high resolution models for real time graphics. Read more here.
